Come away with Me, by yourselves, to a deserted place and rest for a while. -Mk 6:31

Reflection: There is a direct link between the physical and the spiritual states of your being.  You are one person, body and soul.

Take care of your soul, and your health will prosper. Prayer will help you to cope with the ups and downs of life..

Prayer: Lord, help me to treat my body as a tabernacle of Your Holy Spirit.

There are times when your recovery will be in the hands of a physician. Sir.38:13

Reflections: People live longer today because of advanced medical science, but God is the one who gives the doctors the skills they need when they are working.

Always seek sound medical advice, but pray for your doctor, that he or she may be guided by the Lord.

Prayer: Dear Lord, help me to receive the best care possible from my doctor.

When you call upon Me and come and pray to Me, I will hear you.  – Jer 29:12

Reflection. As you hold God close to you in mind and memory — even though you feel apart — He responds to your love.  Pray with confidence.

Prayer. Jesus, in You I live and breathe and have my being.  Never let me be parted from You.

The Lord is the stronghold of my life; of whom should I be afraid?  – Ps 27:1

Reflection. You are not alone for God is always with you.  You are bearing good fruit for God is supporting you.  You will persevere for God is sustaining you.

Prayer. Dear Lord, I know You are with me; help me to trust You more and more.

The wonders of the Lord can neither be diminished nor increased, nor are they possible to fathom.  – Sir 18:6

Reflection. Friendship heightens the joys of prosperity, and softens the sorrows of adversity.  Be a friend to God, and He will be a friend to you.

Prayer. Dear Lord, a friend is often the best medicine.  Help me to make You a faithful friend.

Whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do everything for the glory of God.  – 1 Cor 10:31

Reflection. There are many people who spend their lives trying to steal the limelight, and prove their superiority.  Don’t be like that.  Be humble and give God the glory.

Prayer. Dear Lord, teach me the truth that You are everything and I am nothing.

Refrain from anger and turn away from wrath; do not fret — it does nothing but harm.  – Ps 37:8

Reflection. By letting go of anger and forgiving others you will save yourself from needless misery and frustration.  Harboring a grudge is emotionally stressful.  “Refrain from anger,” and do yourself a favor.

Prayer. God of mercy and love, take away my spirit of revenge.

All you need to do is say “Yes” if you mean “Yes” and “No” if you mean “No.”  – Mt. 5:37

Reflection. Many self-help groups teach their members to keep it simple.  No fancy stuff.  No spin.  No Denial.  Webster’s Dictionary defines the word ‘simple’ as being free from guile and deception.  Yes or No.

Prayer. Keep me, Lord, from being cunning.  Teach me how to keep it simple.

Blessed are the merciful, for they will obtain mercy.  – Mt 5:7

Reflection. Your readiness to show forth a spirit of forgiveness will have a ripple effect.  You will touch many lives by forgiving one person.  You are anointed, so forget your feelings and go forth.  Say yes I will forgive because the Lord asks it.

Prayer. Dear Jesus, make my heart like unto Thine; fill me with Your tender love.

Every good tree bears good fruit … A good tree cannot bear bad fruit.  – Mt 7:17, 18

Reflection. A healthy fruit tree will produce an abundance of good fruit.  A spiritual healthy person will bear spiritual fruit for eternity.  A bad tree only produces bad fruit.  You decide.

Prayer. Jesus, You are the vine and I am only one of the branches; bless my life with a bountiful harvest of spiritual fruitfulness.
