Where there is wisdom there is strength, where there is strength there is understanding.  - Bar 3:14

Reflection. People are quick to believe idle rumors, false reports, and malicious gossip.  Rumors are not facts, and malicious gossip is the deliberate distortion of the truth.  Don’t be like the fool who rushes to judgment.

Prayer. Dear Lord, make me wise, slow to judge, and charitable in dealing with others.

If a man makes a vow to the Lord, he shall not break his word.  - Num 30:3

Reflection. Ideally vows are unconditionally binding.  However, for the most part, vows are conditional promises.  For example, “I will marry you for life, provided you don’t beat me every day.”

Prayer. Dear Lord, give me the wisdom to be non-judgmental and merciful in judging myself and others.

He will judge the world with justice and the nations with equity.  – Ps 96:13

Reflection. God makes the rules.  Don’t fight Him.  The Church follows the words of Jesus; don’t ridicule the Church.

Prayer. Dear Lord, help me to keep an attitude of humility.  Tell me how I can help advance Your plan.

Sing to the Lord, for He has triumphed.  - Ex 15:21

Reflection. God created the most distant galaxy, and He created you.  That galaxy will turn to dust in time, but you will live forever.

Prayer. Dear Lord, I rejoice in the knowledge of Your love.  Keep me humble, and help me to honor You all the days of my life.

Jesus stood up and cried out, “If anyone is thirsty, let him come to Me and drink.”  - Jn 7:37

Reflection. It happens every day; the Lord is continually filling your soul with the nectar of His Spirit.  All you have to do is drink.

Prayer. Dear Jesus, thank You for satisfying my thirst.

Be diligent in providing a firm foundation for your call, … and you will receive a glorious welcome into the eternal kingdom.  - 2 Pet 1:10-11

Reflection. If you believe in God’s love, you need not fear eternal judgment.  Lift up your heart, and live joyfully.

Prayer. Dear Lord, I am eternally grateful to You for the gift of life and the promise of heaven.

Where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom.  - 2 Cor 3:17

Reflection. Mother Teresa of Calcutta, now called Blessed Teresa, once said, “Joy is very infectious; therefore, be always full of joy.  Joy can be your gift to the world.”

Prayer. Lord, I want to rejoice in the knowledge of Your love.  Please help me make that dream come true.

I have told you these things so that My joy may be in you and your joy may be complete.  – Jn 15:11

Reflection. Sometimes your joy can make you smile, but more often than not the decision to smile can be the source of your joy.  Choose joy, and smile more often.

Prayer. Dear Holy Spirit, remain in me, and help me to experience Your joy.

Let me worship Your Name with an undivided heart.  - Ps 86:11

Reflection. Honesty is like an icicle.  Once it melts, that is the end of it.  Stand fast in your convictions.

Prayer. Dear Jesus, teach me to be true to my word, and true to You.

The one who follows Me will never walk in darkness.  - Jn 8:12

Reflection. Jesus offers the brightest light, which can never be extinguished.  Choirs of Angels rejoice in His radiant presence.  Follow Him.

Prayer. Heavenly Light, illuminate the path I need to travel.  Guide me toward the light at the end of the tunnel.
