Reflection.  The Lord is preparing you for the banquet of joy.  Everything He does is designed to bring you safely home to heaven.  Sometimes he sends a shocking wake-up call; but most times he sends a gentle kiss.  Either way it is a gift that can bring you joy.

Prayer.  Lord, help me to rejoice in all circumstances.
