The blind receive their sight, the lame walk, those who have leprosy are cured, the deaf hear, the dead are raised to life, and the poor have the Good News proclaimed to them.  – Mt 11:5

Reflection.  People of old believed that blindness or leprosy was a sign of God’s punishment for sin.  Jesus overturned that belief and paid a great price for it.  They thought he was changing the tradition, when in fact He was challenging them to believe in God’s love.

Prayer.  Lord Jesus, I put my trust in You not in old wives’ tales.  I believe in God’s unchanging love, and nothing can undermine my confidence in this truth.
