Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.  – Rom 12:21

Reflection.  Clara Barton, founder of the American nursing profession, never held a grudge.  Once a friend reminded her of something cruel that had been done to her but she seemed not to remember it.  “Don’t you remember the wrong that was done to you?” the friend asked.  “No,” Clara answered, “I distinctly remember forgetting that.”

Prayer.  Dear Lord, help me to let go of past hurts.  I will turn them all over to You.  Take care of the justice issue for me; meanwhile let me experience the joy of forgetting.
